Boston University

As a global research institution, Boston University has a mission of providing students not only the tools they need to succeed in the workplace, but also a sense of their place in a larger world and an engagement with the cultures, scholarship and diversity of experience that help to make us who we are. We also place high value on the engagement of faculty, staff and students with communities close to home and around the world.

It is hard to imagine a better extension of this mission than BU’s inaugural International Education Week and the opportunities for exploration it affords the BU community across our Charles River and Medical campuses. International Education Week represents more than a simple roster of events and activities, but rather an unrivaled bridge connecting continents, cultures and disciplines – from politics and public health to history, economics and gastronomy across Africa, Asia, and Europe – and, in turn, connecting students, faculty and staff with the growing global dimensions and capabilities of the BU community.

We are excited to host this week and look forward to the new conversations and opportunities for intellectual enjoyment and engagement it helps to spark.

Jean Morrison, University Provost and Chief Academic Officer
Willis G. Wang, Vice President and Associate Provost for Global Programs
