Editor’s Note

As spring begins to settle in across Boston, I am thrilled to present the 2022 issue of 236 to the Boston University Creative Writing community. These pieces were selected from a pool of many wonderful submissions and all hold in common interesting engagement with the idea of evolution; some speak to evolution of self-perception, to evolution of understanding, to evolution of image, while others challenge the idea of evolution completely.

I hope you will enjoy reading these pieces as much as I have, and, most of all, I hope you and those you love are safe and well.
