Commemoration for the 50th Anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Boston - On April 2nd, 2018 The Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center, in collaboration with The HistoryMakers, presented a program dedicated to Martin Luther King, Jr. on the week of remembrance of the 50th Anniversary of his assassination. We were joined by Poet Nikki Giovanni, Professor Khalil Muhammad from Harvard, Professor Walter Fluker, Professor Louis Chude-Sokei, and Melvin Miller. The program included an exhibition of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s archive.

Blacklist Star Harry Lennix remembers MLK's Legacy As Part of MLK Day Celebrations at Boston University

Boston – On January 16, 2017 stage and screen star Harry Lennix headlined a distinguished lineup of speakers at Boston University's celebration of the school's most famous alumnus, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Lennix, an award-winning actor currently starring on NBC's The Blacklist, spoke about how Dr. King's legacy resounds into the twenty-first century. Other speakers included distinguished Boston University faculty members, including College of Fine Arts professor and award-winning playwright Kirsten Greenidge. Musical guests will included Boston University's Big Band and Inner Strength Gospel choir in a performance of Duke Ellington's Sacred Concerts, led by conductor, composer and scholar Randall Keith Horton, a former Ellington assistant.
