There, she taught English literature and writing-intensive courses on US civil rights to adults, many of them first-generation college students. Previously, she taught first year writing, environmental justice, and Black literature classes at Tufts University, where she did her doctoral research and wrote her dissertation reconnecting the theoretical contributions of Sylvia Wynter\u2019s early creative work to Wynter\u2019s corpus as a whole. Tall is most animated by critical pedagogies, the intersections of literature and antiracist activism, and the contemporary Black literature of the African diaspora. Her research centers archival work on the published and unpublished writing of Black women envisioning social, political, economic, and erotic self-determination.
