He teaches courses in the Writing Program on film adaptation of literary works, as well as courses on Shakespeare and other topics in the English Department. He is currently the Assistant Director of the Core Curriculum. As a teaching generalist, he is committed to the Core Curriculum mission of introducing students to great writings and artworks from a range of time periods and cultures across the globe. He teaches the Core humanities sequence (CC 101, CC 102, CC 201, CC 202), as well as CC 320, a hands-on, multimedia deep dive into Hamlet.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Walsh\u2019s scholarship focuses on Shakespearean drama and on film adaptations of literature. He is the author of two books:<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Unsettled-Toleration-Religious-Difference-Shakespearean\/dp\/0198754434?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=thewonref-20\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Unsettled Toleration: Religious Difference on the Shakespearean Stage<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>(Oxford University Press, 2016), and<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Shakespeare-Queens-Elizabethan-Performance-History-dp-0521766923\/dp\/0521766923\/ref=mt_other?_encoding=UTF8&amp;me=&amp;qid=\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Shakespeare, the Queen\u2019s Men, and the Elizabethan Performance of History<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>(Cambridge University Press, 2009; paperback, 2013). He has also published several articles and book chapters on Shakespeare and his contemporary playwrights. He is the editor of<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomsburycollections.com\/monograph-detail?docid=b-9781472585448&amp;tocid=b-9781472585448-id1103752276\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">The Revenger\u2019s Tragedy: A Critical Reader<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>(Bloomsbury Publishing, 2016), and of a new edition of The Famous Victories of Henry V in<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomsburycollections.com\/monograph-detail?docid=b-9781472585448&amp;tocid=b-9781472585448-id1103752276\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">The Routledge Anthology of Early Modern Drama<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>(2020).<\/p>\n<p>He has recently published articles on<a href=\"https:\/\/lfq.salisbury.edu\/_issues\/50_2\/the_art_of_stage_to_screen_adaptation_in_denzel_washingtons_fences.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><span>\u00a0<\/span>the film adaptation of August Wilson\u2019s Fences<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>and on<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lfq.salisbury.edu\/_issues\/46_2\/resisting_hamlet_revenge_and_nonviolent_struggle_in_vishal_bhardwajs_haider.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Haider, an Indian film adaptation of Hamlet<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":25775,"template":"","_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/writingprogram\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile\/19796"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/writingprogram\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/writingprogram\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/profile"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/writingprogram\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/25775"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/writingprogram\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile\/19796\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":19797,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/writingprogram\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile\/19796\/revisions\/19797"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/writingprogram\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=19796"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
