F<span>ellows provide guidance on writing assignments, share disciplinary and writing knowledge, and help students to make their own writing choices. Simpson Fellows also serve as ambassadors for their departments and programs. We have twenty Simpson Writing Fellows working across more than a dozen academic disciplines in the College of Arts &amp; Sciences. Her studies focus on foreign policy and security in Europe. Originally an engineering student, Abigail has her own experinces learning to write for the social sciences and is eager to support other students on their writing journey. Outside of class, Abigail enjoys cooking, trying new Trader Joe&#8217;s products, reading, and watching sports with her roommates.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-sheets-root=\"1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/writingprogram\/files\/2026\/08\/headshot2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"169\" height=\"183\" class=\"wp-image-20184 alignleft\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Adrianna<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>she\/her<\/em><\/p>\n<p>CAS &#8217;28<br \/>\n<em>History<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-sheets-root=\"1\">Adriana is majoring in History and double-minoring in Business and Creative Writing. Her primary historical interests are British industrialization and interwar political movements in Europe. She is especially passionate about writing, whether it be academic, journalistic, or creative. With historical writing, she hopes to strike a balance between storytelling and argumentation. Beyond that, she&#8217;s happiest reading, doing yoga, seeing concerts, and drinking overpriced coffees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/writingprogram\/files\/2026\/08\/headshot4-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"169\" height=\"141\" class=\"wp-image-20187 alignleft\" \/>Amanda<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>she\/her<\/em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pardee &#8217;27<br \/>\n<em>International Relations<\/em><\/p>\n<p><spanhelvetica neue=\"\" arial=\"\" font-weight:normal=\"\" font-style:normal=\"\" data-sheets-root=\"1\">Amanda, a senior majoring in International Relations with a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, has a strong interest in international security and is currently writing her undergraduate thesis on political radicalization and diplomacy in Brazil. She is from Recife, Brazil, and is very passionate about sharing her culture with others. Outside of academics, Amanda works for the nonprofit organization BRASA, loves traveling, and is an avid sports fan, with Formula 1, soccer, and tennis among her favorites. She is also the editor for the public health journal, United Against Inequities in Disease. In her free time, she enjoys crafting, playing the cello, and studying art history. His academic interests include sustainable research, urban development, and studying the long-term effects of environmental policies on carbon emissions. On campus, she serves as the biology fraternity&#8217;s Omicron class educator. Anna also currently works as an undergraduate lab assistant in the Traniello Lab, where she researches brain metabolism among leafcutter ants. She enjoys writing as a way to learn from different perspectives, and she&#8217;s excited to study abroad in Madrid this spring. On campus, she&#8217;s a member of Alpha Delta Pi as well as several other student organizations. She is particularly interested in 20th century art and contemporary art theory. She believes writing is always best with collaboration and is an art form itself. With interests in civil society, transitional justice, and social epistemology, she aims to apply strong theoretical grounding to interdisciplinary writing topics. Her academic interests include inequality, comparative politics, and the ways social and political institutions shape people\u2019s beliefs and opportunities. Her recent research examines how welfare state regimes influence the relationship between meritocratic beliefs and economic inequality. She is interested in Philosophy of Science, particularly historical women philosophers (her favorite is \u00c9milie du Chatelet!). Outside of class, Grace enjoys performing with BU\u2019s jazz band and her local Boston band CHUNK!. She grew up in New York City and loves traveling around the world with her family and friends. Lilu has always had a deep fondness for creative writing, namely historical and speculative fiction. At BU, she has studied Russian literature, Latin American literature, and German literature, among others. She is German, Norwegian, and American, and lived in New York and London before coming to Boston. Philosophy has always been a great passion of hers, and after studying biology for several years, she became fascinated by the study of consciousness and its place in the intersection of philosophy and science. She believes writing is a collaborative process best developed through thoughtful feedback. She is interested in how cultural memory shapes people\u2019s relationships with place, a topic she explores in her honors thesis on historic preservation in El Salvador. Rachel is passionate about using her bilingual background to bridge perspectives in her research and empowering other heritage speakers to do the same. While majoring in Film and Television, Rae hopes to contribute to the growth and accessibility of the Classics community, whether students are taking Classics courses for a major, minor, or general credit. They are particularly fond of social and cultural history, particularly spaces in which disparate cultures and religions meet. Ricki plans to attend graduate school. She is interested in Italian art with a particular focus on the Venetian Renaissance. She views writing as an essential skill developed through practice and collaboration with peers. Outside of academics, she loves a good game night and exploring what the city has to offer.
