The\u00a0Simpson Undergraduate Writing<\/b> Fellows<\/strong> provide writing support to undergraduate students in specific disciplines and courses. Fellows share\u00a0 disciplinary and writing knowledge with their peers, provide guidance on writing assignments, help students to make their own writing choices, and direct students to other relevant resources. Simpson Fellows also serve as ambassadors for their departments or programs. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ada is a fourth-year neuroscience major who enjoys the art of scientific writing. She believes it is vital, as it serves not only as the primary way scientists communicate with each other but also as a bridge to the public. Outside of classes, Ada loves spending time with friends, reading, and watching sci-fi and horror movies.<\/p>\n

Alana is an English major from Arizona entering her senior year at BU. She likes reading fiction and writing nonfiction. In addition to her work as a writing fellow, Alana is a barista, an FY101 mentor, and a special projects assistant in the BU libraries. In her free time, she loves to tend to her ever-growing collection of plants, watch movies, and explore antique stores around Boston.<\/p>\n

Amithi is a junior majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in Public Health. She currently works as a research assistant in a learning and memory lab where she studies neuron and glia connectivity. She is also the editor for the public health journal and organization, United Against Inequities in Disease. In her free time, she enjoys crafting, playing the cello, and studying art history. She is excited to work with everyone throughout their writing journeys!<\/p>\n

Anna is a junior studying behavioral biology with minors in psychology and english. On campus, she serves as the biology fraternity’s Omicron class educator. Anna also currently works as an undergraduate lab assistant in the Traniello Lab, where she researches brain metabolism among leafcutter ants. Outside of school, Anna volunteers at 826 Boston by editing and illustrating young authors’ stories.<\/p>\n

Caitlyn is a senior in the History of Art and Architecture department with a minor in Asian Studies, pursing a future career in art curation or research. Outside of her studies she enjoys playing video games especially farming simulators.<\/p>\n

Ebba is a senior studying History and Holocaust, Genocide and Human Rights Studies. She is most interested in Central European interwar history, and after graduating she plans on attending grad school. Ebba’s favorite aspect of historical writing is connecting sources in the process of developing a strong argument. Outside of school, she enjoys playing rugby, baking, spending time with friends and watching video essays on youtube.<\/p>\n

Jack is an economics major with a strong interest in how data and analysis shape real-world decision-making. Jack is majoring in Comparative Literature and Chinese. He is especially interested in late 20th century Chinese literature, as well as critical theory. He loves learning languages, and has studied Mandarin, French, Cantonese, and a bit of German. Outside of his studies, Jack plays bass in the BU Jazz Ensembles and enjoys photography and writing poetry.<\/p>\n

Lilu is a junior pursuing a double major in Comparative Literature and Spanish with a minor in Anthropology. She grew up in New York City and loves traveling around the world with her family and friends. Lilu has always had a deep fondness for creative writing, namely historical and speculative fiction. At BU, she has studied Russian literature, Latin American literature, and German literature, among others. Nadja is a senior at Boston University double majoring in Economics and International Relations with a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Originally from Germany and now living in Spain, she has experienced the challenges of writing in a second language, transforming it from a weakness into one of her biggest strengths. Nadja enjoys sharing that journey to help others gain confidence in their own writing. Outside academics, she loves SoulCycle, Pilates, long walks, and time with friends.<\/p>\n

Outside of the classroom, Oliver likes to read literature, watch movies, and run along the Charles.<\/p>\n

A Pacific Northwest native from Oregon, she loves hiking, backpacking, paddling, running, and all other outdoor adventures.
