Counteracting AI (Faculty Hour)

Faculty in our program who refuse AI and those who engage it probably agree that teaching and learning are intrinsically human activities. They probably share concerns about students using AI in ways that are limiting or unethical. In this faculty hour, we invite faculty from across the refuse/engage spectrum to a conversation about strategies to keep students writing as means to think, learn, connect, create, etc. How are you changing your assignments or class activities to reduce unwanted AI interference and increase meaning and engagement for your students? Or, to turn this year’s One Question back toward us, When does your classroom feel most distinctively human?
