“Remember Middle School? Flipping the Deficit Narrative of Early Adolescence”<\/strong>
\nIn this talk, we will explore the life stage known as early adolescence. We will learn how these 10-14 year old youth think about their own wellbeing; examine their perspectives on their peers\u2019 socioemotional skills; and consider how we might better design learning opportunities and environments that optimize their potential.
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

Dr. Bishop is also a professor of teaching and learning. A scholar of early adolescence and middle grades education, Dr. Bishop joined BU in 2024 after a competitive national search for the college\u2019s new leader.\u00a0 Read more about <\/span>Dr. Penny Bishop<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n
