Keynote speaker, Francis Troyan<\/strong> from the Ohio State University. His talk is titled “World Language Teachers’ Voices from COVID: Where Do We Go From Here?”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

World Language Teachers\u2019 Voices from COVID: Where Do We Go From Here?<\/strong>
\nThe COVID pandemic has been a trauma on many levels that we continue to grapple with and will for some time, including in our classrooms and in our teaching practice. In this keynote dialogue, we will look at where we have been over the past years and where we are going. As we discuss our experiences and review results of research on teacher practices during the pandemic (e.g., Moser, Wei, & Brenner; Troyan, Ba\u015fok, & Carr, 2022), we will begin to plan where we go now and identify the support needed as we move forward.<\/p>\n

Francis J. Troyan is Associate Professor of Multilingual Language Education at The Ohio State University. Before beginning at Ohio State in 2013, Dr. Troyan was a classroom teacher of French, Spanish, and ESL in Portland, Maine; Burlington, Vermont; and Pittsburgh, PA. At Ohio State, his primary role is coordinating the Bachelor and Masters programs in World Language Education. Along with his passion for pre-service world language teacher education, Dr. Troyan is committed to expanding opportunities for in-service world language teacher development. To this end, Troyan collaborated with the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) and several regional and national language teaching associations around the country to\u00a0host the inaugural\u00a0Leadership Institute for Language Learning (LILL)\u00a0at Ohio State in July 2015. Building upon the experience of LILL in 2015 and his work in core practices for world language education, Troyan and collaborators at Ohio State developed an online\u00a0Graduate Certificate Program in Core Practices for World Language Education available to world language teachers across the country.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
