Chinese New Year Gala Event Reported by BU Today and Daily Press
The Chinese Language Program celebrated the Lunar New Year with its annual Chinese New Year Gala, co-hosted with Global House.
The event was made possible by the Chinese language program faculty, the newly formed student leadership team in the Chinese program, Chinese clusters from Global House.
The evening featured a variety of cultural activities, including traditional food, calligraphy, paper cutting and craft, traditional games, and karaoke and so on. A lively lion dance performance was one of the highlights of the event. These activities created an engaging space for students to learn about Chinese traditions while building connections across cultures.
The celebration reflects the Chinese Program’s ongoing commitment to experiential and community-based learning. By bringing cultural traditions into shared campus spaces, the program encourages students to explore language and culture in meaningful and interactive ways.
