Prof.\u00a0Lorena Barba also received a Mary Erskine Type I award\u00a0to support her visits with program managers and potential collaborators at funding and other government agencies in the DC area.<\/p>\n

Funds to attend the Obesity Society Conference, give a presentation on her new research, and network in this research community that is new to her.<\/p>\n

Funds to support two collaborative efforts: 1) the hosting of Ken Visser, Director of the Center for Sustainable Energy Systems and Associate Professor of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at Clarkson University; 2) purchase of a computer for post-doc who will reside at BU and work with her group but is funded by a colleague at Sherbrooke University.<\/p>\n

Prof. Kathleen Malley-Morrison received a Mary Erskine Type I award\u00a0to fund a short-term campaign to significantly expand outreach through a blog and newsletter, and for attending the upcoming conference of Psychologists for Social Responsibility in Boston.<\/p>\n

Asst. Prof. Donna Pincus received a Mary Erskine Type I award\u00a0to attend the Pediatric Sleep Medicine Conference as well as host Dr. Allison\u00a0 Harvey an internationally recognized sleep scientist from the University of California at Berkeley who has offered to help Professor Pincus re-focus a NIMH R-34 grant.<\/p>\n

\nAssociate Professor, <\/em>in the Graduate School of Geography at Clark University.\u00a0 This connection will hopefully lead to fruitful mentoring and collaborations in the future.<\/p>\n

Travel support for speakers who will participate in the symposium on \u201cEnvironmentally Cued Hatching Across Taxa\u201d to take place a the January 2011 meeting of the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology in Salt Lake City UT for which the PI is a co-organizer.<\/p>\n

Emma Previato received a Mary Erskine Type I award to support her travel to Poland to go to a conference on Geometric Methods in Physics as well as to travel to Kentucky for the American Mathematical Society’s annual meeting which will focus on Inverse Problems, Riemann-Hilbert Problems, and Nonlinear Dispersive\u00a0Equations<\/p>\n
