Jasmine Khamis is a doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology & Applied Human Development program at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. Her research focuses on multicultural counseling and coping with cultural diversity and college mental health. Her interests are related to multicultural approaches to teaching, clinical training, and scholarship, by centering on issues of social justice.<\/p>\n
Before joining BU, Jasmine worked as an instructor in higher educational settings for a decade. She also led research on perfectionism among college age students and the impact on mental health. She has extensive clinical experience previously working as a clinician for acute patients in locked settings, providing DBT therapy to youth in residential treatment programs, acute crisis care. She has also provided clinical care for adolescents in long-term treatment settings and who have suffered pervasive trauma. While at Harvard University, she conducted an honors thesis studying BIPOC youth resilience.<\/p>\n
