Dr. Milord is of Haitian background. Her research studies how race, ethnicity, gender, class and immigrant background interact with career and academic outcomes for youth populations. She is also interested in the racial ethnic identity development and acculturation processes for Black American and immigrant populations. As a predominantly qualitative researcher, Dr. Milord embraces the ability of storytelling in disenfranchised collectives as a mode of sharing power in her scholarship.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Milord most recently completed a postdoctoral psychology fellowship that emphasized culturally responsive health care in integrated behavioral health settings in a community health clinic and various specialty departments at a safety net hospital in Massachusetts. Her previous work ranges from community-based group, individual, and family therapy, school-based mental health care, faith-based outreach.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Milord will teach courses related to culture, oppression, community based research, counseling and group therapy interventions.
