She is a trained special and elementary educator and school psychologist and centers her work on systems-level change and implementation of evidence-based practices to improve outcomes and access to high-quality instruction and intervention for all students, especially those with disabilities. She focuses her work on learning more about the evidence base for reading instruction, intervention, and multiple factors (such as self-regulation and executive functions) that can impact reading skill development and comprehension in K\u201312.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><\/span><span><\/span>At BU, she supports work in the National Center on Improving Literacy (NCIL) and the Wheelock Institute for the Science of Education (WISE), and is affiliated with the Wheelock Educational Policy Center (WEPC) and AI &amp; Education Initiative. Her teaching expertise lies in educational psychology, methodology for teaching students with learning disabilities, academic and behavioral intervention, and identification for special education\/special education law.
