Faszewski"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Ellen Faszewski is a clinical professor in the Science Education program at Boston University Wheelock College of Education &amp; Human Development. She is a cell and developmental biologist whose primary research interests are amphibian development and sponge immunology.<\/p>\n<p>As associate dean for student affairs, Dr. Faszewski examined the impacts of mergers in higher education on academic engagement and performance, interpersonal relationships, and psychological well-being. She was also active in addressing food insecurity on college campuses and, in collaboration with the executive director of the University\u2019s Well-Being Initiative, successfully obtained funding from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts\/Department of Education to centralize and expand food pantry access and education at the University.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Faszewski is an environmental advocate with experience organizing annual events, including the Colleges of the Fenway Muddy River Symposium and Muddy River clean-up. Her work has been recognized by the Maintenance and Management Oversight Committee of the Muddy River Restoration Project and Colleges of the Fenway. She is currently a member of the Muddy Water Initiative Advisory Board.
