Dr. Kaylene Stevens is a Clinical Assistant Professor and Program Director of Social Studies Education at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. Her research focuses on teacher education, civics and social studies education, and K\u201312 pedagogy and curriculum. Dr. Stevens teaches elementary and secondary methods and research methods at the undergraduate and graduate levels and leads practicum experiences for preservice teachers. <\/o:p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Her work has appeared in the Journal of Social Studies Research<\/em> and Theory & Research in Social Education<\/em>, as well as the Boston Globe<\/em> and Educational Leadership<\/em>. She co-authored Teaching History for Justice: Centering Activism in Students\u2019 Study of the Past<\/em>. She has been published in the Boston Globe and Educational Leadership and has been a guest on several education podcasts. Before joining Boston University, she spent 14 years as a public school teacher and served as department head at Framingham High School.<\/o:p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
