{"id":22086,"date":"2016-07-01T13:36:20","date_gmt":"2016-07-01T17:36:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/wheelock\/?post_type=profile&#038;p=22086"},"modified":"2026-05-12T11:24:43","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T15:24:43","slug":"naomi-caselli","status":"publish","type":"profile","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/wheelock\/profile\/naomi-caselli\/","title":{"rendered":"Naomi Caselli"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Naomi Caselli is an associate professor of Deaf education, director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/deafcenter.bu.edu\/\">Deaf Center<\/a>, and the director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/hic\/centers-initiatives-labs\/ai-and-education-initiative\/\">AI and Education initiative<\/a> at Boston University. She is hearing, and her first languages are American Sign Language (ASL) and English. She leads a research team that works to make research on language\u2014across education, computer science, linguistics, psychology, and medicine\u2014inclusive of sign languages, and to ensure all deaf children have access to language.
