This year\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/wheelock\/news\/bu-wheelock-forum\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/wheelock\/news\/bu-wheelock-forum\/\">BU Wheelock Forum: AI and the Future of Education<\/a> offered a unique opportunity to explore the growth of AI and its impact of on education. It featured a live demonstration of the kind of innovative work that can emerge with the help of AI, and also provided opportunities to discuss the promise and challenges of AI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhen we think about AI in education, we need to think about who is going to guide AI to make education better,\u201d said Aaron Rasmussen (COM\u201906, CAS\u201906), who delivered the keynote speech. Throughout the evening, presenters echoed this sentiment, noting that it\u2019s up to educators to guide what comes next as far as the use of AI in the classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-default\">With over 250 guests in attendance, the event included an interactive media performance by Random Actor and an interview with co-creators <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cfa\/about\/contact-directions\/directory\/james-grady\/\">James Grady<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cfa\/about\/contact-directions\/directory\/clay-hopper\/\">Clay Hopper<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cfa\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cfa\/\">BU\u2019s College of Fine Arts<\/a>. It also included a panel discussion about AI in the classroom and informal learning spaces with BU Wheelock faculty panelists <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/wheelock\/profile\/naomi-caselli\/\">Naomi Caselli<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/wheelock\/profile\/michael-chang\/\">Michael Alan Chang<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/wheelock\/profile\/nermeen-dashoush\/\">Nermeen Dashoush<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/wheelock\/profile\/thomas-mckenna\/\">T.J. McKenna<\/a>, led by Dean <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/wheelock\/profile\/penny-bishop\/\">Penny Bishop<\/a>.
