Watch: Jay Halfond’s Conversation with Experts featuring Associate Dean Raul Fernandez
Dr. Jay Halfond, professor of the practice teaching at Metropolitan College and Wheelock and Faculty Advisor for BU Wheelock’s online Higher Education Master’s program, shares the fifth in a series of conversations with experts in the field of higher education. His guest for this sixth conversation is BU Wheelock’s own Raul Fernandez. Dr. Fernandez is currently the Associate Dean for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion as well as a Lecturer at BU Wheelock.
In this conversation, Dean Fernandez discusses how his dissertation focused on student-led movements in higher education. He goes on to speak about the importance of ensuring all students feel a sense of belonging and respect in the classroom and how that can be accomplished. Furthermore, Dean Fernandez shares how BU Wheelock’s Strategic Planning process will give the institution the tools to measure the progress it is or is not making in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
