SED Announces Pipeline Program for Teacher Preparation with 10 Area Schools
On Thursday, January 29 the Boston University School of Education kicked off its partnership with Educators Rising at a celebratory breakfast, hosted on campus.
This exciting partnership will provide a new pipeline program for teacher preparation in the Boston area.
Educators Rising is the premiere national student organization dedicated to supporting young people interested in education-related careers. By partnering with Boston University, Educators Rising will work with up to 10 area high schools to implement a class taught to high school juniors or seniors who are interested in becoming teachers.
The goal of the program is to help create a diverse talent pipeline for future teachers by working with high school teachers and students through early-stage teacher preparation curriculum, professional development, and assistance with internship opportunities.
The programming is free to high schools when they commit to providing a year-long class period and a minimum of one teacher for an EdRising class. The BU School of Education is confident that this partnership will support our work to diversify the teaching corps, not only in Massachusetts, but across the country.
