Research Fellow

Nkechi Abraham is a research fellow at the Center for Future Readiness at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. At the Center, she is conducting a thematic analysis of a State Leaders Network forum to create a tool kit to support economic and social mobility among youth. Through her research experience and involvement at the Center, Ms. Abraham has honed her skills as a writer and researcher to pursue meaningful research questions about youth development—and develop her passion and appreciation for the clarity, rigor, and depth of scholarship.

Beyond her academic work, Ms. Abraham has also gained significant leadership experience from over 20 years at the Master’s Foundation in Nigeria. This nonprofit organization utilized local workforce resources to use real estate as a fundraising tool to support education, social justice, and youth empowerment. At the foundation, she developed her skills in action research, grant writing, budget administration, program evaluation, and reporting.

Ms. Abraham’s research also draws from her seven years of experience at the National Young Leaders Retreat, where she served as the director. This program used culturally relevant tools to harness youth potential for self-efficacy, civic engagement, and social justice.
