Mary Churchill Selected Fulbright US Scholar
Mary Churchill, BU Wheelock’s associate dean for strategic initiatives & community engagement, has been selected as a Fulbright US Scholar for 2022–23. She will participate in the Fulbright International Education Administrators Program in France.
As part of this intensive academic exchange program, Churchill will join other US higher education administrators in learning more about the education system in France by engaging with French educators, government officials, and educational experts. The two-week program will take place in October 2022.
“This program will provide me with the ability to forge new partnerships, create new courses, and make new connections for program development, advisory, teaching, and research opportunities,” says Churchill. “I am excited to learn more about France’s higher education system, and I look forward to meeting other higher education administrators from France and the US.”
At BU Wheelock, Churchill manages strategic partnerships, including the college’s relationship with Boston Public Schools (BPS). She also serves as the director for the Higher Education Administration program and teaches in the program. She plans to share what she learns with colleagues at BU Wheelock, across Boston University, and within BPS.
“We are thrilled that Dr. Churchill has been chosen as a Fulbright Scholar,” says David J. Chard, dean of BU Wheelock. “Her expertise and experience in the field of higher education will undoubtedly be a very positive contribution to Fulbright and the scholar exchange in France. We also know that she will bring her experience from this opportunity back to BU Wheelock to positively impact our programs.”
