Ellen Haebler Skove
Ellen Haebler Skove, nee Ellen Christine Haebler. Born January 6, 1928; died August 9, 2022, age 94.
Ellen was born in the Bronx, NY and raised in Pelham, NY and Milwaukie, WI. She was a graduate of Wheelock College, where she majored in early childhood education. She remained an avid supporter of the college over many decades, serving on the board of trustees, and spearheading many expansions and projects. She married Philip Skove of Cleveland, Ohio, in 1950 and resided for over 50 years in Darien, CT, as well as in Key Largo, FL. Her beloved family included three daughters, four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Gaylen B. Kelley and Glenice Kelley
Dr. Gaylen B. Kelley (SED ’54, ’59), Professor Emeritus and former administrator at the BU School of Education, passed away recently due to complications from Covid-19. Dr. Kelley began his teaching career at BU in 1959 and was Chair of the Educational Media and Technology department. He retired after 40 years of service to the University. On May 2, 2002,the School of Education dedicated the Gaylen B. Kelley Distance Education Laboratory in his honor. Glenice Kelley, Dr. Kelley’s wife and life-long companion, passed away two days after her husband. They celebrated 66 loving years of marriage together.
