The deadline for Alumni Award 2020 Nominations is July 31, 2020
It is the special privilege of the Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development to take part in maintaining and honoring the legacies of two historic institutions: BU’s School of Education and Wheelock College.
Both of those institutions fostered alumni bodies who, through their work and service, elevated the standards of excellence in their professional fields. Both schools honored their many exceptional alumni with awards that spoke to their recipients’ unique contributions. Be it as educators, counselors, advocates or leaders, those alumni helped define what it meant to be a part of their respective communities.
Carrying forward the spirit and practice of those historical alumni awards is an essential step toward defining what it means to be part of our new College and newly-combined alumni body. In 2019, we re-created these awards to reflect our institutional vision by honoring those who, in their work with children, families, and communities, bring us closer to achieving a more just and equitable society.
Nominations may be submitted by faculty, staff, alumni, or our peers in the community. Awards will be given only in years when eminently qualified candidates are identified.
All previous graduates (undergraduate & graduate) of both institutions of BU School of Education and Wheelock College are eligible for consideration of these awards.
