Curiosity and Learning Conference

An Un-Conference of Hands-On Experiences to Explore Materials and Ideas in STEAM

Interested in exploring how to support children’s curiosity about STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) and leveraging that curiosity for learning—and having fun yourself? Join us for the 2024 Curiosity and Learning conference, a hands-on day exploring stations to experiment with provocations and materials. You’ll also have an opportunity to engage informally with BU Wheelock faculty and colleagues from the community.

2024 Agenda

The 2024 Curiosity and Learning Conference is delighted to have Dr. Tiziana Filippini from the world-renowned schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy for introductory remarks as we launch the day. She will also be available for informal conversation at one of the 15+ stations hosted by many excellent educators. “It’s all about playful exploration, inquiry, and asking questions with each other that inspires our curiosity and learning,” says Tiziana.

About the Curiosity and Learning Conference

Inspired by the education philosophy of David and Frances Hawkins, the Curiosity and Learning Conference at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development offers enriching professional development to educators, from schools at all grade levels, museums, and family child care providers.  This event provides an opportunity to practice many ways to nurture curiosity and wonder in ourselves and our students.
