  • Starts: 6:00 pm on Thursday, October 13, 2022
  • Ends: 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 13, 2022
Come join the BU Mathematics Education community as we reflect on the intersection of mathematics education and the Hispanic communities with a digital discussion during Hispanic Heritage Month.

On Thursday, October 13, we’ll be discussing excerpts from the webinar “Translanguaging to Persevere: Exploring Latinx Bilingual Students’ Collective Problem-solving” presented by Hector Morales, Joseph DiNapoli and Craig Willey (access the webinar here https://www.nctm.org/online-learning/Webinars/Details/400 via your NCTM account or by creating a free account). If you aren’t able to watch the entire webinar (which is about 55 minutes long), we recommend focusing on the following clips: - From about 04:55 - 14:30 - From about 21:40 - 31:40 - From about 44:10 - 48:30

Note: that the webinar site at the bottom has links to the chat, slides, and handouts.

Please contact the Mathematics Education Program Director, Aaron Brakoniecki (brak@bu.edu) if you would like to attend the event.
