More About Our Program
In the CAGS in Science Education program, you’ll have the opportunity to craft a combination of elective courses that best represent your background, interests, and career goals. We seek to prepare leaders in science education who apply a deep understanding of learning theory, pedagogy, and educational contexts that shape opportunities for young people to engage in science, develop scientific identities, and become scientifically literate citizens.
Our program will give you the opportunity to work closely with faculty members on outreach, research, and teaching projects. You’ll be encouraged to deepen your knowledge and skills in pursuit of a leadership role in science education. Throughout the program, we focus on developing your leadership skills to support the development of scientific literacy, scientific ways of thinking, and acting that inspire young people to think deeply about science and its relevance in their lives as individuals and responsible members of society.
