CAGS in English & Language Arts Education
You can earn a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) in English and Language Arts Education. Our program is designed for individuals who hold a master’s degree in education or a related field and wish to prepare for careers as supervisors, department chairs, curriculum developers, and consultants.

We’ll work to advance your skills through graduate-level coursework in English literature, advanced instructional methods in English education, educational leadership, and other courses you select. In concert with our core faculty advisors, you’ll craft an individualized program of study to acquire knowledge and practice best suited toward your future goals.
Our program introduces research-based teaching and leadership practices through modeling, discussion, simulation, and video study, and offers personalized academic and career advising with core English education faculty. Our program is committed to teaching for social justice and disrupting inequality based in white supremacy, anti-Blackness, cis-heteronormative patriarchy, ableism, and dominant English monolingualism.
