Kris Berg (ask for pronouns) is an equity & inclusion (E&I) consultant, public health researcher, and graduate student at Boston University. As the Co-Executive Director of Rose & Berg Consulting, Kris is dedicated to supporting businesses, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions in their efforts to create equitable cultures and dismantle systemic barriers faced by marginalized communities. In addition to consulting, Kris works in Boston Medical Center’s Emergency Department to enhance screenings for social determinants of health and resource distribution processes to improve patient health outcomes and staff workflow. Kris also serves as a Writing Consultant at BU’s Writing Center, championing cultural competence and support for ESL students and students with disabilities. Kris holds a BA in Psychology from Boston University and is currently pursuing Master’s degrees in Public Health and Clinical Social Work. Learn more about Kris at rosebergconsulting.com.

What’s the best meal you’ve ever had?
Anything by Mashpee Wampanoag Chef Sherry Pocknett is amazing.

What’s one wish or goal you have this year?
Publishing my research!

What are some of your proudest achievements?
Co-founding BU’s LGBTQIA+ Student Resource Center and working with SHS to create more culturally-competent support groups and expand student healthcare insurance coverage for gender-affirming procedures.

If you were to wake up tomorrow with one new skill, what would you want it to be?
I’m a decent cook, but I’d love to be, like, Gordon Ramsay-level. Minus all the screaming.

What’s one item you can’t live without?
SSRIs (too real?)

Tell us about your pet!
I have a 13y.o. German Shepherd-Golden Retriever rescue dog named McDuffy (“Mickey” for short). She is very sweet and loves babies, puppies, and being the center of attention. Mickey has late-stage cancer now, so I cherish every moment I have with her.

What are your favorite hobbies right now?
Baking, hiking, playing guitar, & stewarding an outdoor Little Free Library!

If could only recommend one piece of media to us (book, movie, tv show, etc) what would it be?
Shrek 2 is a masterpiece.
