Marilynn Clements was born and raised in Colorado Springs, CO, and joined the Army as a Cryptologic Linguist in 2015. During her six years on active duty, Marilynn studied Egyptian Arabic at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA, and served as a Cryptologic Linguist and Intelligence Analyst in Wiesbaden, Germany. During her career, she was certified by the Department of Defense in five dialects of Arabic, Spanish, and French. Marilynn transitioned from active duty to the Army Reserves in March of 2021. She is currently finishing her bachelor’s degree in Russian Language and Area Studies at American University, while continuing her career within the intelligence community.
Marilynn has a passion for travel, and while stationed abroad took the opportunity to explore 16 countries. Her favorite part of traveling is using her language skills to meet and talk to the locals. She’s excited to do the same in DC, which hosts a wealth of cultures and backgrounds from all over the world!
