Welcome!

Interested in a terrific getaway for a semester not too far from Boston where you can plan for your career, network with a host of BU alumni and intern while getting credit for it all? Consider a semester ‘abroad’ in Washington, DC. Life inside the nation’s capital is an exciting undertaking because our program is focused on three things: 1 – your career, 2 – the issues you care most about and 3 – a sound academic experience in a practical learning environment in a very international city.

While the program is in the nation’s political epicenter, we encourage students from all majors to apply.No matter their field of study, we promise students will find a connection in a city where important issues are discussed, that draws people who want to effect change, and invites great minds, ideas, and new ventures.

We like to think of ourselves as a central place for all things BU in Washington. In addition to our program, there are approximately 12,000 alumni in the region along with multiple entities working on behalf of our great university. We work hard to expose our students to this strong BU presence in DC so they’ll be amongst friends.

Students have an opportunity to explore a future not just working but also living in the District, learning how exciting, demanding, and fun life is inside the nation’s capital. Unlike our sister sites in other cities across the world, we guarantee your experience will serve long-term purposes. We push our students to immerse themselves in projects and tasks that will get them better connected to their fields of study.
