The award is available to students conducting research with faculty mentors in the following schools\/departments:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>African American Studies<\/li>\n<li>American &amp; New England Studies<\/li>\n<li>Cinema &amp; Media Studies<\/li>\n<li>Classical Studies<\/li>\n<li>College of Communication<\/li>\n<li>College of Fine Arts<\/li>\n<li>Core\u00a0Curriculum<\/li>\n<li>English<\/li>\n<li>History<\/li>\n<li>History of Art &amp; Architecture<\/li>\n<li>Humanities (CGS)<\/li>\n<li>Linguistics<\/li>\n<li>Philosophy<\/li>\n<li>Questrom School of Business<\/li>\n<li>Religion<\/li>\n<li>Romance Studies<\/li>\n<li>School of Hospitality Administration<\/li>\n<li>Women\u2019s, Gender, &amp; Sexuality Studies<\/li>\n<li>World\u00a0Languages &amp; Literature<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Note \u2013 Applications for HAP Scholars Awards will also be considered from students working with faculty from outside these departments and programs provided that the research falls within a humanity, art, or preprofessional discipline. Applicants are encouraged to get prior approval of their project\u2019s scope by contacting UROP at least one week prior to the application deadline.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Students conducting research in the humanities, arts, and certain preprofessional programs are welcome and encouraged to apply for UROP funding during standard application deadlines.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During the summer students can apply for a $3,500 stipend for 20 hours of research per week, a $5,250 stipend for 30 hours\/week, or a $7,000 stipend for 40 hours\/week. Complete applications will include an Application Form and a faculty recommendation letter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summer 2027 HAP Scholars Application is due April 9, 2027 at noon.
