Quantitative Economics, Computer Science, Applied Math

Independent Funding Available, Potential for UROP Funding

I am looking for one student to help implement a reasonably new quantitative method and build a package for widespread use among quantitative economics researchers.

The student must have experience programming, and have some familiarity or ability to learn econometrics and applied mathematics.

The ideal candidate will have programming experience in both Matlab and Stata; will have substantial experience with applied mathematics and econometrics; and will have proficiency reading French. None of these are hard requirements. Any student with strong mathematics skills and a reasonable programming background is invited to apply.

Please email me at jetson@bu.edu with the subject “UROP Application” if you are interested. I will meet with interested candidates between September 1 to September 5.

This will be a paid position. We will apply for UROP funding, although I can provide some research funds if this is unavailable.
