She earned a BS in Medicinal Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Neuropharmacology from the University of Milan, Italy. Prior to joining BU, she conducted research in the field of the biology of Alzheimer\u2019s disease at research institutions in the United States and in Europe. She was also an adjunct faculty at Brandeis University, and an Instructor at Harvard Medical School and Harvard University\/Harvard Extension School.
