The Learning Assistant (LA) Program here at Boston University helps improve undergraduate education by training students in teaching methods and practices. LAs help their fellow undergraduates by providing them with knowledgeable and experienced peer educators, and LAs enhance their own learning abilities through their understanding of pedagogy.<\/p>\n<p>Neuroscience Classes using Learning Assistants are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>NE 101 Introduction to Neuroscience<\/li>\n<li>NE 102 Introduction to Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience<\/li>\n<li>NE 116 Integrated Science Experience I<\/li>\n<li>NE 203 Principles of Neuroscience with Lab<\/li>\n<li>NE 204 Introduction to Computational Models of Brain and Behavior<\/li>\n<li>NE 212 Introduction to MATLAB Programming for Research in Psychological &amp; Brain Sciences<\/li>\n<li>NE 218 Integrated Science Experience II<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our program recruits new learning assistants in November and April for the upcoming semester! She currently works as a research assistant in a learning and memory lab where she studies astrocytes. She is also the editor for the public health journal, United Against Inequities in Disease. In her free time, she enjoys crafting, playing the cello, and studying art history. She works as an undergraduate researcher, where she studies the neuroinflammatory response to cortical brain injury. Outside of academics, she loves a good game night and exploring what the city has to offer.
