{"id":5,"date":"2011-05-26T14:20:50","date_gmt":"2011-05-26T18:20:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www-test.bu.edu\/ufmal\/home\/"},"modified":"2024-03-02T12:08:22","modified_gmt":"2024-03-02T17:08:22","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ufmal\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"\/ufmal\/files\/2011\/05\/home-page-banner-5501.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14\" title=\"home page banner 550\" src=\"\/ufmal\/files\/2011\/05\/home-page-banner-5501.jpg\" alt=\"home page banner 550\" width=\"550\" height=\"137\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Welcome to the Unsteady Fluid Mechanics &amp; Acoustics Laboratory!<\/h2>\n<p>The unsteady fluid mechanics and acoustics laboratory at BU has a long history.\u00a0 In the 1970\u2019s when the ME department was still young, researchers developed one of the first boundary element formulations for aeroelasticity and acoustics associated with helicopter rotors for NASA.\u00a0 Today the tradition is carried on by Professor Grace and her graduate students who research a variety of interesting and important problems in the field.<\/p>\n<p>Check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ufmal\/research\/\"><strong>research tab<\/strong><\/a> for a list of active and past projects.<\/p>\n<p>__________________________________________________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p>In the summer of 2022, Professor Grace organized a NASA Downlink event at BU during which 400 middle and high school students + 400 BU affiliated people connected with BU alumni astronaut Bob Hines while he was on the International Space Station. I State co(vid)-champions 2020).\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=4uz0loalPPY\">Semi&#8217;s<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=hKDcCBTDeqU&amp;feature=youtu.be&amp;fbclid=IwAR1Y07jpMgn8vzps61RdnWZMX8387aQzp8ODS_jOkVIk1jOWO0Hazqcmknk\">Final&#8217;s<\/a>. Every year since, I have organized and been the videographer for Belmont Medias livestreams of the Belmont High School home hockey games as well as some soccer and lacrosse games. Was appointed to the Belmont Media Board 3\/2024.
