\/>Upward Bound Math Science program is a federally-funded TRIO program that provides academic support to <strong>low-income and\/or first-generation<\/strong> <strong> college bound students<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0To qualify students need to either meet TRIO low-income guidelines <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">or<\/span> be first-generation college, meaning neither parent has obtained a bachelor\u2019s degree.\u00a0\u00a0 Additionally, to qualify, students must have at least started the ninth grade <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">and<\/span> either attend one of the program\u2019s target high schools that include the <span>Boston Green Academy, Josiah Quincy Upper School, Chelsea High and Charlestown High School<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">or<\/span> live in one of the program\u2019s target neighborhoods that include Chelsea, Dorchester, East Boston, Mattapan and Roxbury.\u00a0 Lastly, students need to be interested in studying science, technology, engineering or mathematics.\u00a0 <strong><em>Students attending the target high schools are given priority in the admissions process<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>During the school year, students must attend tutoring and academic instruction after school, and during either February or April break.\u00a0 During the summer, students live on the Boston University campus from Sunday-Friday for a six-week academically intensive program.<\/p>\n<h2>Eligibility<strong> <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In order to be eligible to participate in the Upward Bound Math Science program, students must meet <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>all<\/strong><\/span> of the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Meet low-income guidelines <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>or<\/strong><\/span> be a potential first generation college student (neither parent has a bachelors degree)<\/li>\n<li>Attend a target high school (<span>Boston Green Academy, Josiah Quincy Upper School, Chelsea High and Charlestown High School<\/span>)\u00a0<strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">or<\/span><\/strong> live in a target neighborhood (Chelsea, Dorchester, East Boston, Mattapan, and Roxbury)<\/li>\n<li>Have an expressed interest in studying science, technology,
