You may also <a href=\"mailto:bikes@bu.edu\">email us<\/a> with questions<\/p>\n<p><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">BUCK Appointment Policy<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\">Breakdowns can&#8217;t always be predicted in advance but, for times when you know in advance that you&#8217;ve got some repairs or maintenance to do, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.signupgenius.com\/go\/5080A45A8A728A4FF2-55725418-bucycle\">making an appointment<\/a> will ensure that you get the help you need when you need it. <\/strong>When making appointments, please keep the following policies in mind:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Registrations, lights, helmets, bells, and minor work like pumping a tire, or adjusting seat height can all be done on a walk in basis<\/strong>. Do not schedule an appointment for any of these procedures.<\/li>\n<li><strong>First time? <\/strong>If you&#8217;ve never brought your bike or scooter to the BUCK before, show up 10 minutes early if you would like to register it with the university.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Be prepared. <\/strong>We want your visit to be successful. Sometimes that means procuring parts in advance. If you&#8217;re not sure what&#8217;s needed, drop in for an assessment before your appointment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Show up.<\/strong> Failing to show up for your appointment shows disrespect to other BUCK users and wastes our resources. Failure to arrive on time may result in revocation of appointment-making privileges.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Be on time.<\/strong> Those who fail to arrive at the BUCK within 15 minutes of their appointment&#8217;s start time may lose their appointment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dress<\/strong> <strong>appropriately. <\/strong>The BUCK is a learning space where you perform your own work. Closed-toed shoes are required to perform maintenance and join bike rides. Additionally, be aware your clothes may get dirty because of work performed here.<strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Let us know.<\/strong> Running late? Pick up the phone and let us know: 617-353-BUCK. Need to cancel? Please do so via our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.signupgenius.com\/go\/5080A45A8A728A4FF2-55725418-bucycle\">appointment page<\/a> at least 24 hours in advance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Big job?<\/strong> Some jobs take more than 45 minutes. If you think your task is one of those, please add a comment when making your appointment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Clean up.<\/strong> Factor time for cleanup. Your work isn&#8217;t done until tools have been put away. The next visitor will appreciate it!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Can&#8217;t stay<\/strong><strong> here. <\/strong>Space is limited at the BUCK. We cannot allow storage of bicycles and\/or parts if your task cannot be completed during your visit. As long as your registration is current, you should have access to the bike cage at 32 Harry Agganis Way, the nearest secure parking option.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/transportation\/bicycling\/reg\/\"><\/a><strong>Bike kitchens can be found all over the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>They are DIY bike repair spaces and community gathering places. Unlike a traditional bike shop, there&#8217;s nothing much for sale at the BUCK and the mechanics won&#8217;t fix your bike.
