They help get cars off the road which cuts down on emissions, reduces traffic congestion, and helps everyone reach their destinations faster. To say thanks, we&#8217;ve dedicated a ground floor parking area for carpoolers who have 610 Albany Street Garage permits.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#apply\">Apply<\/a> for preferential parking access.<\/p>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Carpool program rules<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"markedContent\" id=\"page70R_mcid29\"><span role=\"presentation\" dir=\"ltr\">Only ONE car can park with each carpool registration (participants may alternate cars)<\/span><\/span><span class=\"markedContent\" id=\"page70R_mcid33\"><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"markedContent\" id=\"page70R_mcid33\"><span role=\"presentation\" dir=\"ltr\">Since only one hanger is issued per car:<\/span><\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"markedContent\" id=\"page70R_mcid33\"><span role=\"presentation\" dir=\"ltr\">if your carpool partner is sick or on vacation and you do not have the access,<\/span> <span role=\"presentation\" dir=\"ltr\">please identify yourself as a carpooler and give your name to the attendant. The attendant will check the list and let you<\/span> <span role=\"presentation\" dir=\"ltr\">in.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"markedContent\" id=\"page70R_mcid33\"><span role=\"presentation\" dir=\"ltr\">if your primary carpooler partner will be out for a week or longer, call BUMC-BMC PTS 617-358-7592 for access<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span role=\"presentation\" dir=\"ltr\">while your partner is out<\/span><\/span><span class=\"markedContent\" id=\"page70R_mcid37\"><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"markedContent\" id=\"page70R_mcid37\"><span role=\"presentation\" dir=\"ltr\">If multiple carpool members need to park on a given day, one carpooler may use the employee garage (610 Albany St) but<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span role=\"presentation\" dir=\"ltr\">NOT in the carpool spaces. The other carpoolers must park elsewhere, or in the 710 Albany St. Garage at full price<\/span><\/span><span class=\"markedContent\" id=\"page70R_mcid41\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"markedContent\" id=\"page70R_mcid41\"><span role=\"presentation\" dir=\"ltr\">You may NOT drop off your carpool partner before you enter the garage and use preferential parking spaces. You must<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span role=\"presentation\" dir=\"ltr\">have 2 or more people in your car when entering the garage<\/span><\/span><span class=\"markedContent\" id=\"page70R_mcid45\"><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"markedContent\" id=\"page70R_mcid45\"><span role=\"presentation\" dir=\"ltr\">If carpoolers are found to be abusing this system, all members of the carpool will lose all parking privileges<\/span><\/span><span class=\"markedContent\" id=\"page70R_mcid49\"><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"markedContent\" id=\"page70R_mcid49\"><span role=\"presentation\" dir=\"ltr\">You will notify BUMC-BMC PTS if you are no longer carpooling so we can accommodate other people.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Tips for accessing the Preferential Parking area<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>When accessing the preferential parking area, please try your best to utilize the far right gate to badge in when entering the 610 garage. Please refrain from using the middle lane as this can cause traffic and for safety reasons. Before entering the preferential parking area there will be a second gate where registered carpoolers and electric vehicle members will need to badge into.<\/p>\n<p>Remember:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least TWO carpoolers must be present and must tap two ID badges onto the transponder.<\/li>\n<li>Carpoolers will badge in on the transponder labeled \u201cCARPOOL\u201d. You will need to badge in with the PRIMARY carpooler\u2019s ID badge (person who pays for parking) first and then the secondary carpooler\u2019s ID badge. The gate will not lift up without 2 carpooler badges.<\/li>\n<li>PLEASE HAVE BOTH ID BADGES READY PRIOR TO ENTERING THE 610 GARAGE, as idling will cause delays and backing up will be extremely difficult. Having your badges ready will help us to eliminate traffic in the garage.<\/li>\n<li>For parties that have more than 2 carpoolers in their group, only two ID badges are needed to enter. be used when 610 Albany Street&#8217;s chargers are full but, after four hours, the vehicle owner must either park elsewhere or park in a regular 710 Albany Street space and pay the hourly rate.<\/li>\n<li>Parker must be driving an electric vehicle to park in the Preferential Parking area.<\/li>\n<li>Garage access records will be checked frequently and users who fail to observe these You must have 2 or more people in your car when entering the garage.<br \/>\n- You will notify BUMC Transportation Services withing 3 business days if you are no longer carpooling<br \/>\n- Failure to obey these rules may result in all members of the carpool losing all parking privileges.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong>EV drivers<\/strong><br \/>\n- Users may not occupy an EV charging space for more than four hours.<br \/>\n- 710 Albany Street's chargers may be used when 610 Albany Street's chargers are full but, after four hours, the vehicle owner must either park elsewhere or park in a regular 710
