JP Licks Winner of Best Ice CreamHockey: winner of best BU sport.

And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for — time to announce the winners from the Best of BU.

BU Today wanted to know your favorites, from live music club and burger joint to study spot and party street. More than 3,600 people voted for their top choice from 4 nominees in each of 20 categories.

This year, we raised the stakes with a set of prizes, with winners chosen in a random drawing. The first prize, a Nintendo Wii, went to Grant Mukai (CGS’08).

“I heard it’s pretty unconventional for a video game system and highly addicting,” says Mukai, who plans to find some friends with a TV to play his Wii. “I’m really excited to try it out.”

He may not have to wait long, says Evan Goodman (CAS’08), winner of the second prize, a $100 iTunes gift card. “I might buy a book-on-tape,” he says. “Or I might see if the Wii winner wants to work out a deal with a TV.”

Marissa Berstein (CAS’11) took third prize, a $75 CambridgeSide Galleria gift certificate.

There were some close calls, a few nose-to-nose races, but the best beat out the rest in the final finish. Click through the winners listed below to find out the Best of BU.
