Mothers Against Violence Conference
Mayor Martin Walsh (left) presented Boston Police Commissioner William Gross with the Mothers for Justice and Equality’s Courage and Conviction Award Thursday, October 24, 2019, at the fifth annual Mothers Against Violence conference, hosted at BU. Mothers Against Violence draws leaders and mothers from around the country as allies in the movement to end street violence. Gross, pictured here with Monalisa Smith (to his left), founder of Mothers for Justice and Equality, and other organization members, was honored for his leadership in reducing community violence.
