  1. HiNathan, I am fighting in New Zealand against fracking in Hawkes Bay. Can you make any comments about the Co2 ballance: less CO2 in former coal power stations against uncontrolled release of methane in the petroleum industry?

  2. I had used cooking gas for more than a decade before I decided to switch to electrical. Now, I cook on induction. But, I gotta say that I was not much in the know of the environmental affects of cooking gas. I made the change due to my convenience… more or less. Induction is far more user-friendly, in my opinion. And the fact that it’s ‘cleaner’ too is just a cherry on the top.

  3. If you do some research, it looks like induction cooking isn’t so safe after all. Take a look: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22674188 The distance for supposed safe exposure is one foot away from the burners. It’s really hard to cook standing one foot away from the stove, especially if you’re using the back burners. We all know that microwave ovens aren’t as safe as we were told when they first came out, so it stands to reason that a stove that cooks with electromagnetic waves, like microwave ovens, wouldn’t exactly be safe.

    1. Especially if you take into consideration the amount of which we are already being bombarded with EMF’s in nearly everything we use and in my case i have EHS and keeping that in controle becomes much harder and i’m just a fraction away of becoming a hermit.

      So i think that using gas and immediately sucking the air through a ventway out of the house, as best as possible, would be my best option . I live in the Netherlands and a few years ago i think around 2018 we started using another type of gas, i think a less natural one we had (because we were using natural gas here we had much of it in the ground. They had to stop though because of eartshakes in that area) and than i noticed that whenever i cooked i had this upset throath and some caughing which i never had before and i only have it after cooking so something has changed with the mixture of the gases being used.

      Now i know there are the usual suspects of substances being produced in every type of open air combustion.. but never before had that resulted in me having some type of irritation of my airways. So the gasguys came to install a new type of gasmeter… and i had a talk with one of them, airing my concerns to him about the caughing, he had this look upon his face, the kind the doctor has, if he has to give you bad news..and said; “well it’s mixture they make and sometimes they make mistakes and put in too much of the one substance or the other”… and i thought..hmm that’s not reassuring to me healthwise, i did not quit smoking only to find i had a similar problem just by cooking.

      I must say i think fracturing installs these more hazardous elements into the gas and some of them come into our air when we cook… but do you know how much searching… and refraising this question, with different searchmachines, it took me, to finally land on this websites article ..They just dont want people to know this..maybe they’re afraid of being sued..there is something there lurking in the dark .
