The Art of Cracking a Lobster
How-to will make tonight’s annual Lobster Night less intimidating
BU’s annual Lobster Night—one of the most anticipated culinary events on campus each fall—is tonight, Wednesday, September 14. Dining Services will be serving fresh, delicious Maine lobsters, along with corn on the cob and other fixings, in all three Charles River Campus dining halls and the Fenway Campus Center Dining Room. Meals will be served from 5 to 7 pm on the Fenway Campus, from 5 to 9 pm at Marciano Commons and West Campus, and from 5 to 10 pm at Warren Towers.
Students on meal plans can use their meals as they normally would for dining. Guest meals, dining points, and convenience points can be used for friends, family, or to treat yourself to an additional lobster. Students not on a meal plan and faculty and staff looking to join the fun can use convenience points, cash, or credit cards.
The uninitiated may feel cowed by the thought of tackling the bright red crustaceans, unsure how best to crack open the tough shell and pull out the succulent meat. We bring you this primer so you can get the most out of your lobster. Take a look before you head to Lobster Night.
And remember to wear a bib. You’ll be glad you did.
