ASB 2016 Volunteers: Tweet Your Experience

BU students share what they’re doing around the country in real time

Some 375 BU students left Boston this past weekend, traveling across the country by bus, train, plane, and van to work as volunteers in this year’s Community Service Center Alternative Service Breaks (ASB) program. They are spending the week in 37 locations, among them Atlanta, Ga., Milwaukee, Wis., the Great Smoky Mountains, Tenn., and Fort Smith, Ark., helping the homeless and the chronically ill, promoting environmental awareness and rebuilding trails at state and national parks, renovating affordable housing, and much more.

If you’re participating in this year’s ASB, BU Today would like to hear from you. Send tweets and pics, using #BUasb, and let us know how your trip is going. Comments will show up in the Twitter widget above throughout the week.

Thank you B U volunteers! YOUR work is GREATLY appreciated in our Detroit Cody–Rouge neighborhood. Your visit to the Detroit Rouge Park Buffalo Soldiers Heritage Association was quite an honor.

Once again, thank you BU ASB New Orleans volunteers for all the impacts you made at the LA-SPCA this week. Thank you especially for the imprint you made on our hearts. I promise you will have a special place there always.
