There are 5 comments on Summer Internship: Working for the Family Business

    1. If you read the article and were able to step back from negativity while reading, it sounds/looks like her parents were her employers during the day.
My family owned a business while I was growing up, and I worked for them all the time that I could during the school year, and full time in the Summer months. Believe me, working in a family business as a family member is no cakewalk!

      1. I concur. I work full time for a family owned textile mill. Knowing that you have employees who rely on you is no walk in a park. If anything, the pressure causes you to work harder.

    2. I’m impressed with her well written essay. She didn’t just get her “parent’s” internship. She got a real job doing real hard work, a family business wake up call! I learned a lot off of this essay, as I never thought about all the hard work involved in a winery. Keep tweaking the business, and bless mom and dad for keeping an open mind, even if it is a little hard being told what they could do from a kid of theirs!
