Incoming submissions are not monitored 24\/7. If there is an <\/span><strong>emergency<\/strong><span>, contact the BUPD at <a href=\"tel:6173532121\">617-353-2121<\/a>. If off-campus dial <a href=\"tel:911\">911<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">This report is an official communication with the University and is not confidential. Reports and referrals will be handled as discreetly as reasonably possible to protect all involved parties and in accordance with all federal and state laws and other University policies.\u202f<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">No person, who in good faith, reports threatening or other troubling behavior in accordance with these guidelines will be subject to retaliation. Reports and referrals will be handled as discreetly as reasonably possible to protect all involved parties and in accordance with all federal and state laws and other University policies.\u202f<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"field-blurb\" id=\"dnf_class_values_care_report__general_student_care_and_concern_referra__field-blurb\">\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bu-advocate.symplicity.com\/care_report\/index.php\/pid655330?&quot;\"><button>Share a Concern<\/button><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Some examples of concerning behaviors may include, <\/span><b><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">but are not limited to:<\/span><\/i><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u202f\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335557856&quot;:16777215,&quot;335559738&quot;:240,&quot;335559739&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Threatening words or actions, online posting in social media or journals that are threatening (if imminent, contact 617-353-2121);<\/li>\n<li>Unexplained and extreme aggression toward others;<\/li>\n<li>Projects or papers that convey clear intentions to harm self or others;<\/li>\n<li>Observed self-injurious behavior, such as emaciation, burns or cuts;<\/li>\n<li>Suicidality, including threats, gestures, ideation and known attempts of suicide (if imminent, contact 617-353-2121);<\/li>\n<li>Stalking (including cyberstalking);<\/li>\n<li>Aggressive acts toward an identified group;<\/li>\n<li>Individuals with weapons or infatuation with fire, firearms, bombs, ammunition or weaponry;<\/li>\n<li>Paranoia or delusions by the individual that he\/she is being targeted;<\/li>\n<li>Uncharacteristic poor academic performance;<\/li>\n<li>Substance abuse or being under the influence of illicit drugs;<\/li>\n<li>Depressed\/persistent sadness\/unexplained crying;<\/li>\n<li>Disturbed eating behaviors;<\/li>\n<li>Disturbing written material\/class discussion;<\/li>\n<li>Excessive anxiety\/extreme mood swings; and<\/li>\n<li>Significant change in appearance\/behaviors, lack of hygiene.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>General Care and Concern Referral &nbsp; Members of the university community are encouraged to\u202freport concerning behavior\u202fof a student, faculty, staff member, or organization\/group.
