Subject: Computing Tutorials for the BU Administrative Community

Information Services & Technology (IS&T) is pleased to announce our training classes, which will be offered throughout the year. This year’s listing includes our new Microsoft Office 2010 overview sessions. If your department has upgraded, or is planning an upgrade, to Office 2010, this overview will highlight the differences between the new version and both Office 2007 and Office 2003. We recommend that you start with one of these general sessions to learn some great tips & tricks to working efficiently with Office 2010. These overview sessions include helpful takeaway materials for all who attend.
We will be adding training classes for each individual Office 2010 product later in the semester, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The first round of these classes will be dedicated to those departments that have already upgraded to the new Office suite. We encourage you to attend one of these classes as your department upgrades to Office 2010.
Please read on for details about these sessions and the rest of our training line-up.
Our non-credit tutorials are one to three hours long and offered several times per semester. Hands-on exercises, offered in most classes, will help reinforce the material. These tutorials are listed on the IS&T website with meeting times, class descriptions, room locations and online registration information.
You can access the training page and register for courses at:
www.bu.edu/tech/training/classroom
Advance registration is highly recommended for all tutorials to ensure seating and handout availability. Although seats occasionally become available for walk-ins, registration through the website is the only way to guarantee your place in a particular session.
