We are now at the one-year anniversary of the launch of MyBU Student Information Systems (SIS) along with other important projects like Identity &amp; Access Management and Student Employment. Additionally, we plan to replace the Door Access and Dining Systems in the summer of 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span>As we move forward, we are also preparing to retire the mainframe. Below, you will find a list of services that will be impacted, which may be familiar to you:<\/span><span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span>Services Being Shut Down:<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span>The Links: Business Link, Faculty, and Faculty\/Staff<\/span><span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span>UIS (including ComPlete and Adabas\/Natural application services)<\/span><span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span>Galaxy tasks<\/span><span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span>Batch jobs (both scheduled and ad hoc)<\/span><span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span>IRIS end user reporting<\/span><span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span>Access to ERD and EOS reports<\/span><span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span>TSO \u2013 access to datasets on the mainframe<\/span><span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span>Timeline for Access Changes:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><strong><span>UPDATE\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span>access to database files on the mainframe\u00a0<strong>will be switched to READ-ONLY<\/strong>\u00a0as we archive them in a database off the mainframe for future access. This process will be occurring from June through September as we archive static mainframe database files, culminating with archiving the final files upon the completion of the final remaining projects that complete the retirement of the mainframe.<\/span><span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><strong><span>READ-ONLY<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0access will remain\u00a0<strong>available until December 31, 2025<\/strong>, at which point the\u00a0<strong>mainframe will be completely shut down<\/strong>.<\/span><span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span>As we develop the archive database, we<strong>\u00a0will provide access\u00a0to<\/strong>\u00a0a limited amount of data not otherwise provided from system conversion, including faculty teaching history. We are not planning for routine access to this archive data for the campus community.
