This seems to have affected students who were attempting to create and then log into their accounts for the first time.<\/p>\n<h4>Incident Description and Resolution<\/h4>\n<p>IS&#038;T teams have resolved the incident by reverting a change made on Jan 24th.<\/p>\n<h4>Additional Information<\/h4>\n<p>The cause of this incident was determined to be a settings change made to the LDAP configuration on two production weblogin servers. It was uncovered today because there was heavy traffic on the servers after Admissions sent out a reminder to create an account to 18,000 students at 11:30am.<\/p>\n<p>If you continue to have issues, please contact the <a href=\"mailto:ithelp@bu.edu\">IT Help Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"update\">Previous Update<\/h4>\n<p><!-- more --><\/p>\n<p>Incident Discovery Time:<br \/>\n12:22pm on 02\/01\/2021<\/br><\/br><\/p>\n<p>Services Impacted:<br \/>\n Identity &amp; Access Management (IAM)<\/br><\/br><\/p>\n<p>Description of Impact:<br \/>\nWhen applicants are trying to create their accounts, the process is timing out or failing.<\/br><\/br><\/p>\n<p>Current Status;<br \/>\nIS&#038;T teams have discovered that there seems to be a 5-10 min delay on creating accounts at this point.
