{"id":117196,"date":"2018-10-22T15:00:41","date_gmt":"2018-10-22T19:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/?p=117196"},"modified":"2018-10-22T15:08:50","modified_gmt":"2018-10-22T19:08:50","slug":"crashplan-upgrade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/2018\/10\/22\/crashplan-upgrade\/","title":{"rendered":"Desktop Backup &#038; Restore Service Upgrade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Beginning on October 28, 2018, all currently installed Crashplan clients will be upgraded to Code42 version 6.5.2.\u00a0 Note that the Crashplan product has been re-branded as Code42.\u00a0 The upgrade will be scheduled and pushed by the Code42 server.\u00a0 No client intervention required.<\/p>\n<p>Please review the <em>Code42 app version 6.0 and later System Requirements<\/em>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><a href=\"https:\/\/support.code42.com\/Administrator\/6\/Planning_and_installing\/Code42_platform_hardware_and_software_requirements\">https:\/\/support.code42.com\/Administrator\/6\/Planning_and_installing\/Code42_platform_hardware_and_software_requirements<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Clients running an unsupported operating system will not be automatically upgraded.\u00a0 Backups and restores will continue to run normally in the short term, however these clients will be in an unsupported configuration.\u00a0 These clients will need to either have their operating systems upgraded or seek an alternative backup solution.<\/p>\n<p>Product changes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Peer to Peer (computer to computer) backups are no longer supported.
